Yep, had them for 6 months and love em. They are a bit large, and somewhat heavy but if you do a great deal of night riding they are great. I bought em because the stockers broke and were absurdly priced.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I just changed the lights over to Hella 4000ff's they are 10 times the quality of the Maxtel (that come with the Ricky Stator set-up.) I also run dual 100 watt lamps instead of 35's.

As soon as I get my digital camera back from my brother I will snap a few pics of the new lights.

Here is a top view of my light set-up with my GPS mount.

Myself, I have a thing with lights. I have a set of Hella Ralle 4000's on the front of my Ram Cummins.

The lights on the quad make night riding so much more enjoyable and safer. Being able to see 150 ft in front of me, Im able to ride the trails so much faster at night. Only draw back is that the unit weighs 15 pds and you can feel the weight. If I chose to do so, I can remove the lights in under 10 minutes for day riding. Installation is just as fast too.:D

I would only suggest getting lights like these if you do a great deal of night riding. The great thing is if I want to head to the track I just upbolt 3 bolts and they are off. Takes less than 5 mins.

My vessel has NO problems coming up at all :D although it did initially throw off my balance point a bit. All is well now :macho

Yea, those lites weigh 15 pds. They do hold the front end down. With them off, I can jack it up in third. With them on, I gotta try pretty hard to get it up in second.

Steering is more heavier too.

I am sure those lights help out alot at night, but how do they affect other riders?

RED121572

The lites are designed for Baja use not the woods. The lights shine far ahead and not so much to the side. How does it affect other riders you ask? Well, they are blinding.

With or without the lights I have NOOOOOOO problem pulling the front end up. My lights are very blinding if you are coming the opposite direction. But if you have ever been to Glamis you know most people run bright lights......cause the place goes off after dark!

05-17-2002, 06:11 AM

phatswinn
05-17-2002, 08:45 PM
the styrofoam thing is a 3 inch wide 1 foot pvc pipe for supplys, and i havent dont anything with the stator yet because im saving to have it rewound to 250watts, any know if i need to rewind it if i rn it straight from the battery? i drilled wholes through the ac bumer and mounted then there... saw it in a dream
