This year is the 27th year of the Motorama show at the Pennsylvania Farm Show complex. I strolled up to Harrisburg this afternoon to get a quick look at what this year will have to offer. I decided to take a self guided tour of Harrisburg City. Harrisburg is a buffer city. Many trains come in and out of the city. Their is also water way.

If your coming into Harriburg area around Rush hour, be prepared...they have yet to figure out a good flow of traffic during these hours...

Lost Creek has had the most presence of all race teams for as long as I been going there. They bring in their large inclosed trailer and Line up the many quads around it. They had a bunch of really sweet looking quads sitting there already today. Here is Dunks Yami Ready for battle

This is the battlebot arena. Last year I seen some pretty sweet machines go at it. I look forward to this years.

Dave Middlesworth has been sending one of his sprint cars to motorama for the last few years. His team didn't have the best of seasons last year, hopefully they can get something done about that this year.

I was there late afternoon, and there were already some pretty sick toys placed around the complex. Here is a sweet chopper...

Here is some of the cars lined up to compete in the car show.

I just got my new digital camera. I was trying all night to dial a setting in to work with the low light indoors. It was rough. Later in the evening they turned on more lights, so that helped some. Many others were having the same problem.

Dunk cleaned up Expert class. In Moto 2 he came up short on the triple and contracted the bar pad pretty hard. After the moto, they ran to the hospital. He dislocated his jaw and needed it set back in place asap. He made it back for the main with a hospital braclet still on his wrist. He didn't back down from the triple at all. Clean sweep for Dunk this saturday.

Dunk wasnt the only rider taking a trip to the hospitol. Paul Gregg (pgregg85) flipped his quad after nailing the tripple and broke his collar bone. We hope he makes a speedy recovery

Ear pounding Tuner Wars set the backdrop for the ever growing car show. Some of the most tricked out rides from the area were out in force.

The Trails bikes brought alot of spectators. Watching these machines and thier riders climb obstacles that most would have trouble walking up is an awesome expierence.

Pappy
02-20-2005, 08:05 AM
Bikes competed in thier own version of Trails on a timed course.

Pappy
02-20-2005, 08:07 AM
The pit areas were spread out surrounding the large arena area. Lost Creek Cycles always sets up a large display of thier machines.

Lost Creek rider Jason "Dunk" Dunkleberger stole the show and went on for a sweep of the Pro/A class. During one moto Dunk wrecked on the tripple dislocating his jaw. After a quick trip to have his jaw fixed, he returned for the main and showed what it takes to be a Pro rider.....he came right back out in the main and won it convincingly!

Congratulations to Dunk on another crowd pleasing performance! We at ATVriders.com wish you a speedy recovery.

I would like to apologize in advance for not providing the coverage our members have grown accustom too. A delay cost me my press credentials which really didnt prevent me from getting quality pictures. However the poor lighting in the event did. I tried every setting known to man with my equipment and finally resorted to using a flash unit that isnt compatable with my camera. I was able to capture a few decent shots but ruined my camera in the process.

Another Lost Creek rider works his YFZ thru the tight indoor layout. The track seemed unchanged from years past and speed was limited to how good your brakes were:D

During the day heats were running non stop. With over 400 competitors the action was intense.

Pappy
02-20-2005, 08:23 AM
This section provided some gasps from the crowd as riders would get crossed up.

Pappy
02-20-2005, 08:25 AM
The YFZ and TRX swapped positions in every heat race. Being such a tight course afforded the new generation quads no real advantage over the other.

Pappy
02-20-2005, 08:29 AM
Jeff Weaver pilots his 450R in one of the many heat races. Jeff also raced a Banshee in another class but broken reeds forced him out of competition. After a diligent search for a replacement set his day was done.

His TRX worked fine:cool:

Pappy
02-20-2005, 08:31 AM
One of the most fun races to watch all day was this heat race.

Pappy
02-20-2005, 08:35 AM
Rider 7x had a decent start and just kept coming!

Pappy
02-20-2005, 08:36 AM
After making the pass and taking over the #1 spot the pressure was on. Being followed by a hungry pack of racers can unnerve a rider but not in this race:D

Pappy
02-20-2005, 08:38 AM
7X gets the checkered flag and wins the heat. Riding a 400ex based quad in a field of new age thumpers and taking the win proved once again that rider ability means more then having the newest model on the dirt:macho

Thats about the best shots out of 300 pictures. I know others attended this event so feel free to add to the coverage if you can.

I would like to also extend a "GET WELL SOON" to atvriders.com member pgregg85. After nailing the tripple on several laps, he managed to clip the lip of the landing sending him head over heels causing what is expected to be a broken collar bone. You looked good out there as usual and I hope you have a quick recovery from your injuries.

had a great time there like usual. your right pap, dunk stole the show. he was the only quad hitting the triple and one of the few who attempted the other small double. the rest of the quad class depended on who might take the 10 ft double after hte triple, or double the triple landing, then who could break the fastest so that kinda sucked. the bikes put on a good show, the 250 expert class was probably the most entertaining. a full gate of 20 riders and no wrecks which was truely amazing. plus they were basically spot on with every landing and hitting everything like it was cake.

the only complaint i have would be the little kids. i know some of you parents beg to differ but honestly i about fell asleep. out of the 400 entries probably half were on 50s, 60s, or mini quads. when they would come out you could see so many people just get up and leave. i wanted to but didnt in fear of losing my seat. they would have kid races for about 45 minutes, then a normal adult race, back to a half hr of kids, an adult race, another half hour. it really really burnt me out watching that. i wish the promotors would do something about that and perhaps have the child races in another arena and get rid of the rc cars. they could build a track for children, instead of watching them roll over all the adult jumps. maybe have them before the normal races too.

but i think for me the best part of the show had to be tuner wars. we left the races about 6, beat from the child races and decided to go see what the show was all about. we walk in and see beautiful cars, then see a group of probably at that time 500 guys crowding a stage. here low and behold it was a bikini contest about to begin  very good show i might add. after that we went around and hot women were handing us magazines while looking at the cars. we then got autographs and hugs from a few of the girls in the bikini contest and i got an autograph of some girl on the cover of a magizine she handed me. really wish i would have taken my digital camera. theres always next year.

well thats the way i seen the event. all in all a very good day except for the child races.

The turn out for quads was really good this year. I was really impressed. Here is a yamaha that was basically stock. There was all kinds of mod levels out there.

Joey, same to you man. You guys seem like real cool guys. I look forward to hitting up some of the races with you. Here is a guy talking to a kid about his quad. I met a lot of nice people this weekend.

fresh track ready to be torn up by some quads and crazy riders

tamehart
02-20-2005, 07:14 PM
During intermissions, the crowd was entertained by this man. He was pretty funny, but I think some of the things he said could have offended some people.....but its a joke right....

tamehart
02-20-2005, 07:15 PM
He had a pretty cool t-shirt gun...gave out many throughout the weekend

tamehart
02-20-2005, 07:45 PM
soon as I find it...I have evidence of JrdShift450r checking out the babes...

these guys are ready to race....and watching all this racing all weekend sure gave me the fever.

RICJAMES
02-20-2005, 08:25 PM
7X (Ben) ripped it up in that heat! it was his first race on the quad and only his second race one a quad ever. keeping the 400ex alive!!

tamehart
02-20-2005, 08:40 PM
yea......I caught you...they could change the track a little bit and it would be pretty cool on a quad...but its a smaller arena...gotta be satisfied with what you got I guess...I will be posting some racing pics soon

tamehart
02-20-2005, 10:49 PM
as soon as I get a program that resizes these monster pictures into small ones to post...I will be able to get the few hundred race shots I got up....

I got to see some good racing this weekend.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:06 PM
James miller had a good weekend. If I remember correctly, he took home a couple wins on saturday.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:12 PM
I don't have the results yet to check my memory. For the first lap or two the riders really hung together. It made for some good battling in the areas that one could make a pass. These riders are 2X2 down the whoop section. Many riders were able to single the first three and double the last. I didn't catch anyone doing more than that.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:14 PM
The holeshot is the key factor to a win at motorama. Here a Lost Creek rider (450r) grabs the holeshot. He went on to take the win.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:15 PM
Again #79 from lost creek. With his holeshot, he stayed in the lead the entire race, earning him a top qualifying finish and a top gate pick.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:16 PM
I think lost creek cycles had a rider in every heat, or atleast it seemed like it. They have a good group of talented riders. Here 112 is trying to make the pass on the big sweeper.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:18 PM
Iam Tolbert from LCC had a great weekend. I have had the chance to race with this guy at the local tracks, he is a very good rider and a good guy at heart (which most of you found out at Sundays experience) He took home a couple wins and top finishes throughout the weekend

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:20 PM
Tim Weaver just got his 450r back with some mods. He hasn't rode the quad since the beginning of summer. Although he couldn't get his starts down, he managed to work his way up to 4th or 5th place.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:22 PM
The picture shows the bad start. As the straightaway funnels down, the riders get squeezed and pushed. I seen a few wrecks in the first corner.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:23 PM
One more of Tim. He sported +2 burgard arms, extended burgard swingarm, AC nerfs, Tag bars, Burgard Beadlocks, LSR Axle, and a HRC style endcap.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:25 PM
The triple wasn't attempted by many, however most rolled the take off and then doubled into the corner.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:27 PM
There were a few quads that had trouble starting, but this gentlemen was disappointed with a broken axle. He was a good enough sport to pose for a picture.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:31 PM
Dunk was the man this weekend. Everyone had their eyes on him. Here he gracefully soars over the triple. Atlest one time I seen him just about run into the wall. The track sure wasn't made for quads. No big deal for Dunk, he had plenty of time between him and 2nd place to get turned back around and take off. It's a shame Natalie or Ernzeller couldn't show up this year and give him a challange.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:32 PM
1st corner havoc, caused a loss to some of the good riders.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:34 PM
Coming out of the first corner, a small double caused trouble for some. Most riders were able to hit it though.
Not the case last year, Honda had equal or close to attendence as yamaha this year

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:36 PM
following the small double, was a large double. Last year I remember at least seeing Natalie do it. I don't recall anyone attempting it this year. Riders just popped or rolled the two mounds. The left side was the advantange for the long sweeper into the whoops

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:38 PM
#8 aboard his Yami had a good weekend. I am looking forward to seeing some of these riders this year on the outdoor tracks. The straight away before the triple was all about power.

You spend all that money on expensive suspension and you still can't keep the front end on the ground.....you just got to love that : )

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:39 PM
I believe this guys # is 568. He was in the top 3 nearly all weekend. He rode a very nice trick 450r.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:40 PM
This rider made a very nice pass on the first set of doubles.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:50 PM
568 chases down the leader into the corner

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:51 PM
after stalling at the end of the whoops. Rider #13 didn't think twice to hop off his quad and push it across the finish.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:51 PM
Rider #8 thanks his sponsors and celebrates his win in the final

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:53 PM
Like I said before, the start really mattered what position you came out of the first corner in. Here it looks like #79 is out front

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:54 PM
Indeed this was the case, He remained outfront

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:55 PM
Entering the sweeper, #79 held the lead with #53 following

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:55 PM
Through the whoops, #53 got close but was unable to make the pass.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:57 PM
The battle went on throughout the entire race. This is the corner before the triple. #53 is trying to get an advantage

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:58 PM
The battle was getting really intense.....53 could only hope 79 would slip up

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:59 PM
Pushing it too hard into the corner, #79 spins out leaving a wide open door for 53.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 02:59 PM
With the tables turned, #79 wants the lead back more than anything

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:00 PM
A well earned win goes to #53.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:01 PM
The expert riders were up next. Dunk personally made sure his gate was to his specs.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:02 PM
It was only sunday after the freestyle comp that Dunk figured out he didn't need to risk his quad and health on the triple. But untill then, he was unstopable

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:04 PM
Cam did all he could to keep up with Dunk. Dunk has a much bigger budget and a few more years on you. I wouldn't sweat it. You looked good out there though. You will get your chance again soon.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:05 PM
after hitting the triple, Dunk was hard on the brakes to slow down for the corner.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:06 PM
Dunk earned a good celebration with the performance he put on this weekend.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:07 PM
I think he had experience thanking his sponsors before. He was pretty smooth with it.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:08 PM
I will throw in this picture. This is a local kid, Camron Paige. If you see him at the races, he will more than likley be out front. He is an amazing rider. I am calling it now, pro in the works

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:10 PM
Ms. Motorama this year was a really sweet girl. She donated all her winnings to Spina Bifida.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 03:10 PM
All the girls were more than happy to take pictures with various drooling guys over the weekend....

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:16 PM
Dunk personally handed out some of the games.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:18 PM
many of the weekends benefits were donated to spina bifida. The organizers were great people and very caring

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:25 PM
The final day of competition brought much more battling to the field. I think most just thought it was their last chance and gave it their all.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:28 PM
Here is the race that I mentioned before. #8 was being followed by Ian Tolbert (LCC rider) on the final laps. #8 got blocked up in a wreck and Ian took an alternate route that allowed him to make the pass. I feel that Ian deserved the win because he even looked for #8 to come out in front. Thats racing I guess. Ian pulled into the victory spot and asked the annoucer if he was the actual winner. Ian gained my respect. Good guy

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:29 PM
When the race was over, the riders looked confused. I think it was due to the mixed crowd boos and comments

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:31 PM
Ian posed with Ms. Motorama '04 and '05 in the victory spot

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:32 PM
a respectable man posed for a picture with the guy he thought should have won the race

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:33 PM
#79 was out front again and held off the fighting pack for another win.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:34 PM
this guy was on the hunt. He gave it his all. I think he ended up 2nd or 3rd

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:35 PM
I got the chance to take pictures of #79 once again in the victory cirlce

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:38 PM
The expert class line up for the last time

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:42 PM
Cam ran expert, so I thought I would be nice and take a few pics of him. What does he do, but try to run me over. I am looking threw my camera and all I see is #312 coming straight at me. haha...actually Cam got spun around in the first corner and got caught up on the tires.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:42 PM
Cam trying to make up some time

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:43 PM
Cam came around again and made sure he stayed away from the inside

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:44 PM
Anyone want to guess who was out front.....

come on......

give up.....

#323 from Lost creek held on out there in Expert class. Got the chance to talk to him. Real nice guy

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:47 PM
I was getting sick of seeing this guy in my camera.....just kidding

Jason Dunkelberger and the Lost Creek Cycle Team put on a great performance for the crowd all evening.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:50 PM
#79 was back out front with #4J on his tail.

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:51 PM
#4j was putting a lot of heat on #79

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:53 PM
its amazing what a small mess up can do. 4J capitalized on 79's mistake and took the lead

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:54 PM
4J proudly sat in the spotlight and gave his thanks to those who got him there

tamehart
02-22-2005, 07:56 PM
That's all I got for the weekend. Sorry I couldn't get more detailed on finishes. I wasn't able to stick around and jot it all down. I came down with some sort of bug saturday evening that I am still trying to push off.

Motorama was pretty awesome this year. I was sitting in the front row right above the word Dennis in a white shirt with a bunch of my friends. It was awesome getting roosted by Dunk and all the other guys. Can't wait til next year.

JUST RESPONDING TO THE GUY BUSTING ON THE YOUTH RIDERS AT THE BEGINNING. REMEMBER, IF THOSE KIDS WERE NOT OUT THERE RACING, 30 YEARS FROM NOW THERE WILL BE NO MORE RACING. OBVIOUSELY YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY KIDS!! HOW LONG DO YOU THINK CHILDREN ARE GOING TO RACE IF THEY SEE EVERYONE LEAVING WHEN THEY START TO RACE???????
I CAN TELL YOU MY KIDS WOULD NOT LIKE IT!

good coverage tamehart. dont believe i seen you or any members there for that matter tho.

jrd, im sure dunk had good reason as to why he did not throw his goggles. if you would ever speak with him you would understand he is one of the nicest guys out there.

brotherspizzeri, is the caps lock broken on your computer? but i understand your point and i realize most parents love watching their kids riding. but what about the other 85% of the people in attendance there that dont want to be bored to death watching some little kids crawl over everything? its great they are out riding and racing but this should be an adult event. put the kids in another arena with a track built for them. i guarantee the kids would have more fun actually being able to do something rather than just make it up the adult jumps. i think everybody would win that way :)

Lets not forget that quite a few of us would not be in this sport nor would we be sharing it with our kids if we did not have the chance to ride and experience it as kids. As far as a track just for the kids or a seperate track, kids like to ride on the adult track it makes them feel bigger.

Hello everyone, I raced in the production B class in the first heat. I was the only female out there. I was wondering if anyone happen to get a pic of me? I got a great holeshot on Saturday but stalled in the first double, Sunday i had no topend power so unfortunately could not go anywhere. But i had a blast and will be back next year. Thanks
