I have a question for you guys about bars and a steering stem for my YFZ 450, and I wanted to see what you guys thought before I ordered everything.

I am looking at getting a +2 high, +1 forward Houser stem and clamp. I'm also not sure what bend TAG or Pro Taper bars to get. I'm about 5'11 and the stock stem and bars are just too short. I was thinking of getting the stem and CR High bend bars, but I dont want then to be too high... That seems to be about the most popular setup (+2 stem with CR high bend bars). Also will my cables be long enough for that setup? One other question for you guys... I'm also thinking about getting a larger gas tank (IMS), would a +1 stem be long enough so that it dosent rub on the tank or do you def need a +2? Thanks for the help guys

I'm 5'8 and I run a +1 with CR-Hi's. I race mx, but I think that a +2 stem and CR-Hi's would be a little big. You could always run a +2 stem and a set of CR-low bend handlebars.

Do I need a +2 stem if i want to get an IMS gas tank in the future though? Or is a +1 stem long enough... does anyone know?

The +1 stem will work with an oversize tank, I believe.

I'm running a Houser +2, Renthal CR 89-91 Bend, and a IMS tank. I'm 6'2" and to me this is a great setup. I can actually stand up on the pegs without being all hunch over. Feels great in the whoops!

I'm 6'4" and I'm running a +1 up & +1 forward LSR stem with CR high bend bars.

I have a Toreup IND. / Merriman stem. It's a custom +1+1( +1 forward+1 higher) anti-vibe stem at a 45 degree angle. It comes with a LSR clamp and I have the Trail Tech high bend X bars. It makes the other stems look weak. If you want flashy, get one of the big name brand stems, it you want something tough, look up Merriman

Thanks for the help guys I noticed that you list GPr as a sponsor. With a 1 inch forward stem you won't be able to run a GPR stabilizer. Also, with the angled stems you will not be able to run a GPR stabilizer.

I ordered a +1 houser stem with CR high bars, I also have a GPR Stabilizer. Everything should work out just fine. I have a few friends with +1 high, +1 forward stems with a GPR stabilizer and theirs works just fine... I know that an angled stem wouldnt work for sure. :)

I have the Houser +1 stem and CR hight bend. I am 6'2" and it fits good for me.
I think if you go with a +2 you might have to get longer brake lines.
I run a WER stabalizer, Its mounted down on the frame, so thats not a problem here.
