View Full Version : my 400ex rebuild

since theres so many rebuilds goin on i decided i would post about mine too:D
powerplant will be a powroll 416 stroker. hotcam stage 2,heavy duty cam chain, new rockers and springs, ditched the white bros exhaust and ordered my sparks x-6 today. got an edelbrock carb dirt cheap so im puttin that on too.

body and chassis wise its gettin all new plastic, k&k graphics and seat cover, and a quadtech hood.

got my frame p/c black and my engine case covers some kind of blue(forgot the name)

are those cases painted or powtercoated ???

they are powdercoated... came out to be alittle darker thean i thought they would be. almost like a "ford" blue lol. should look good tho. i cant wait to "git r dun" lol

so will your motor be a 416? or a 440?

powrolls stroker is a 440.

Sweet that is the same motor I am building now! What and cam, carb are you running? I am going stock right now.

What kind of riding you do?

i am running the hotcam stage 2 until i can get some more cash and then gettin a different cam,rockers,valves and springs. gonna put on the edelbrock carb i bought from my buddy that sold his ex. we'll see how it works. should have my crank back beginning of next week. when i sent it in they were on a 3 week turnaround.:macho

hey jay99400ex howd u get those motor mounts sooo shiny and youll probably have to take them out to get your motor in there

Have you got your crank back from powroll? I have not the rods are backordered it is starting to make me mad I want to ride.

this is hoser400ex, they had trouble gettin mine back within runout spec but mine will be shipped out tues. or wed. talked to pam on the fone yesterday... did u do the tuff rod kit??

your fine till the stock one is shot then I would replace with heavier one.

haha talked to pam on wed. she said i did get the last rod. but still sumthin wrong with getting the runout set im getting very anxios cuz 1st race 3 weeks away!!!
