View Full Version : Stock bore or 416?

I am debating between boring out my motor to a 416 kit or just puting a stock bore high comp piston, with either i am also adding a hotcam stg2 cam. What do you guys recommend i do and which revs better and is there a big difference, both will be 11:1?

With the other mods you have listed, I would go ahead with the 416.

you wont notice any difference between a 416 and a stock bore with a high compression pistion. as long as they are the same compression. a 416 might have a bit more bottom end but nothing you will notice. most of the power is made by higher compression and the faster you get the gas in and the faster you get the exhaust. so i would get the stock bore and do some head work like porting . you should be happy with that.

If you got the money go with the 416. The jug probly needs a nice bore. Also I reccomend Web over hotcam, JMO.
