Aside from the bling factor. If you take your stock axle nut off clean the threads and make sure they are dry, put red loctite on the threads, tighten to the manufacturer specs, and then use black tape to tape the two nuts together, you will have a locknut that will stay tight for many many races. I did mine about two months ago and it is still as tight as the day I torqed it down.

There is also a myth about the stock bearing carriers breaking. The reason most of these break is because the axle nut comes lose, which is a very important part of the keeping the carrier supported by the tension of the nut being tight. It gets lose and puts stress on the carrier that it was not designed to take, and it breaks.

Just a way to save a few hundred bucks. :D

I've run the Durablue and RAD(single pinch bolt) locknut on my quad. I run the stocker now and it's the best one out of the three. Stays tight for a long time. I've only tightened twice since I started running it again. Once because it came loose, and once cause I tore my rear end down to check/grease the bearings and seals. I replaced it with the stocker three races ago including many practices.
