Okay maybe a stupid question but, I've seen some Aarms for sale that are +3inches, does that make them long travel or are they only long travel when the shock mounts under the bottom Aarm like the Houser longtravel?

i think the long travel are defined by requiring longer than normal shocks, such as 19". But, also, I think that all +3 a-arms are probably long travel, so you're assumption is more than likely correct.
