How To Jet A Bike?

I finally got the bike running. Have to keep a battery tender on and the High output battery in it! No biggie! Now, how do I jet the thing from scratch? Going to the desert this weekend. Have tons of time. Any sugestions? I think there's a procedure on this site, but I can't seem to find it. Thanks. Tim

Need more help, though. I know where the jets are and how to remove them. I'm going to let the bike warm up and run full throttle and then hit the kill switch. Check the plug. Turn the fuel screw in or out as necessary. I may have to change the Main Jet if I run out of turns. Am I heading down the right track? Any help? Thanks. I love this forum. I also own an '04 YFZ450. YFZ Central sucks. Weenies. Thanks to everyone for the help. Tim

Check this article out. The link is a little slow to load, but the article is very good. It helped me out quite a bit when I was learning how to jet my quad.

Unfortunately the pictures that accompanied the original article are not there, but if you read it carefully (and re-read it) they probably are not necessary.

THnkas sjc115. I liked the article. Helped out a bit. I started the bike last night under it's own power. Let it idle for about 5 minutes. Checked the plug. Wet. Black. OK. Running rich. I never rode the thing, just let it idle. This is a pilot jet problem? I'll go down a pj today. I'll put a new plug in and run it see what happens. Thanks for the help.

if all it did was idle, then yes, its a pilot jet problem
