Decibal Rating on stock 400ex????

I have an 04 400ex. I am looking for an aftermarket pipe and I can't really get anything to loud. I ride in New Hamshire in the woods alot. I like going to the local track but I mostly ride in the woods. I want a pipe that isnt to loud but i dont mind if it is somewhat load. Something that wont get the trails closed on me would be good.... I was looking into the hmf sport series... ? The guys said they are around 102-104dbs and with the quit core around 98-99dbs. I want to compare that to my stock exuast, what is the dbs on that?? thanks alot

I think it's around 89dbs.

Supposedly, my e-series puts out around 95dbs and its ALOT louder than stock. 102dbs would be very loud.

yeah its around 88-89 stock. Pretty much any pipe with a quiet core would work for you.

Check out the dirt wheels pipe shootout they did a while ago for the 400ex....

It has the db level for stock and a bunch of aftermarket exhausts.
Also gives the hp for the stocker and each pipe. Looks like the best pipe only gives about 2hp gain. I thought it would be more than that.......

I kept my stock just to eliminate anyone griping about noise
