my friend says everytime the temp changes 5 degrees colder or warmer you have to turn the a screw in the carb 1/8 of an inch, to make the quad run good or is my friend being retarded?

while im asking questions does it cost 1000 dollars a month to maintain a 400ex?  or are my friends lying to me?

well, you should adjust the fuel screw everytime you ride just to be sure your running right. but there are no set in stone guidlines. $1000 a month? umm no. here is for them-

it's under the carb, slightly beyond the choke lever if i remember right. you can get at it with a small screwdriver if your hands are small (mine are not) or you can buy a special tool for it. motion pro has one, it's like a long screwdriver with a 90deg bend at the end with a cable running through it so when you turn the handle the tip turns at a 1:1.

Loosen both clamps on the airboot by the carb and rotate it so that you can see the bottom of it. The fuel screw is in a recess in the center. It's hard to get to it with a regular flat screwdriver so it sometimes helps to use those little screwdriver-end bits that attach to a ratcheting screwdriver.

how do you know where to have the fuel screw set. 1000 a month is rediculous. ill probably spend 1000 a month this summer on mine just cuz im doing a good amount of mods. i mean if you race there will probably be like 200 a month in matenence including broken parts but 1000 thats crazy

I just got a 400ex, from a ttr125

I knew there would be a big power increase, but I didn't expect it to be THAT much

and I got my first lesson on tire pressure, I was on a sidewalk and as the front end started to lunge to the air it started drifting into a pole
