before ya go for internal engine mods i would definately hook your suspension up. if your on a 300ex or blaster whatever you have a stock motor with upgraded chassis will smoke a stock chassis with motor work. throw an axle on it with even some works shocks it would do wonders for you.

o yeh i have a fmf and k&n...i would rather start on engine work first...my cousin wants to sell me soem stock 400ex a-arms..anybody kno if they are longer than 300ex?..so piston..then cam?..anyone know about how much a good cam would cost me?..sorry for all the questions but i wont kno if i dont ask.

The 400ex a-arms are longer and will fit, but some feel it messes with the steering of the 300ex a lot. Search the topic and you will find numerous threads. You would also have to get different shocks that were valved for the 400ex arms. I say just save up money and buy extended arms.

dude listen to everyone....SUSPENSION FIRST....you can have all the motor in the world but if the quad cant handle it then what good is it to have all that motor??? remember.....suspension and handling first!

If the motor is running well (like most non abused honda's) I would def listen to everyone and go with suspension first. Bansheeguy77 is right... especially if money is an issue. Suspension, pipe, filter removed lid, and jet kit. you will definitaly keep up. If the motor is crap then do the motorwork first.

noo i never MXed before,so i dont know if i will like it,im not goin to go buy some $300 a-arms and $300 shocks and go try it out and wind up not liking it..this way if i dont like it,i can drag like i always did.

go out and run in the stock class...thats stock suspension and basicly stock motor other than bolt ons. if you see that you like it...GO SUSPENSION FIRST dont even mess with anything preformance wise other than an air filter because no one wants to suck dirt into their motor (to hell with a stock filter...:grr: ). the order i would get stuff would be shocks (works are fine get some with the remote rezzy though...for the rear i would get an ebay raptor shock with a 4hun spring if you dont weigh a whole lot , tires and wheels (you dont really need wheels but its always nice to have something stronger...and the bling factor is nice too :D ) arms 400 arms are fine if you run a hybred 300/400 stem (300 stem with the 400 steering tab) or you can get one for a 400 it takes some messing with but it isnt to bad to put in, and axle. remember, everything doesnt have to be brand damn new. its not as cool to run used stuff but its effective. THEN go to motor work

like i said i dont have that much money to spend,i dont care if i dont get brand new suspension,as long as it works.i dont know much about suspension(actually nothing at all)...i wont be able to buy a-arms and shocks at the same time,i dont have that much of money...+2 a-arms?

save up and get what you can when you can you can still have fun and learn on a stock quad and everyone is right suspension is the key better shocks = more speed because you can control the thing better

ok...i will look into suspension, but i dont have that much money!..that is why i wanted engine work first.and if i buy a-arms,i will have to buy shocks, and them money doubles.

Motorwork will only make you so happy in motorcross... The biggest part is going to be your jumping and cornering. Your not going to have to fun of a time win people pass you in a corner because your on 2 wheels or get by when you bottom out or case a jump and scrub speed. Handling is so much a part of Mx if you want to be competitive.
