300ex 400 motor swap

Does anyone know if you can put a 400ex motor in a 300ex. If so i was just wondering how hard it was and if its even worth it. Oh yeah and if anyone has a 400 motor with or without bore they are wanting to get rid of let me know. thanks

i know but i got a guy who wants to trade me a 300 with a bunch of stuff on it but i wanted to know how hard it would be to put a 400 motor in it. i've heard that they just bolt right into place but i'm not so sure its that easy.

just put a 330 big bore on the 300 and a few other stuff and it will be just about as fast as a 400. It will still handle like crap compared to a 400ex.

I can not see how they would just bolt up you would need to figure out the oil tank the oil cooler. I think a 400 ex motor is taller than a 300. Mufflers will be different CDI's and wiring different.

I would either hop up the 300 or save for a 400. I would not try to mix them together to make a fast ill handling bike. It would be a handfull with that small of a bike with that much motor.

i haven't ever ridden a 300 ex i didn't know that they handled bad. thanks for tellin me that i still have to get the quad this weekend i was just wonderin what i could do to it. Thanks man.

330 big bore it will be pretty fast. pipe make a big differance too.

they don't handle bad just not in the class of a 400ex.

I've seen a 300ex with a 400 motor and they will not just bolt up. I know that the FST 330 kit will outpull a 400ex though.
