I was riding and all of a sudden it just shut off, i tried to kick it over and it wouldnt budge. i tore it down and it happen to be my crank bearing so i was stuck at the bottom of peagravel hills in the bayroid mines. it was a long walk back to the truck:mad:  ..

They usually just go all of a sudden. Friend lost his in his 250r. We rode all day with no problems at all, then all of a sudden it just died. He tried kicking it over and it was locked up. We drug it home and he tried again and it was freed up, then he tried once again and they were done for. I havent heard of them making any noise, its kinda like a piston they just sieze and thats all she wrote.

awj8074,
Approx how many hours of riding did you have on your R when the bearing went?

I've put about 30 hrs on mine with no sound yet(knock on wood).
I'm just hoping mine doesn't get the bearing issue.
