How long should i wait to change my oil filter, i know to change my oil every 2-3 months but what about my filter?

i suggest every 4-5 oil changes but if you ride in dusty areas more often than that, like3-4.:cool:

depending on how u ride i would change the oil more often and change the filter everytime. u dont want to run clean oil thru a dirty filter. some people change their oil after every hard ride, but definitely after a couple of rides

Yes and other people change their oil once a year whether it needs it or not...

Same here, & I usually change my oil after 15-20 hrs of ride time.

Im with Vegas and that other EX rider. Youve got a machine that cost you nearly 6 grand....change the filter every oil change!! lol

I personally dont keep track of how many hours I ride it. I keep a close eye on the color of it and change it just when it starts change color.

How much does a filter cost and can u just get it from u dealer

You can get one from the dealer, but it'll probably cost $6-8. You can buy a K&N for about $5, & an Emgo for about $2.50 @ Rocky Mountain.

NAPA also carries them $4 or so if memory serves.. I wasn't really impressed with them.. I just get the OEM filters..

Go to your dealer, I bet if you buy 5 or 6 at a time he'll cut you a deal on them.
