View Full Version : CRT reusable oil filter for my R

Being that clean engine oil is so vitally important to your quad, is it a smart idea that i use a reusuable oil filter? Im not completely sold on the idea yet.....?

why not you have to clean the oil filter every time you reuse it. Its just saving you money from buying a new filter every time.

i heard they are a PITA to clean and its difficult and they brake easy when you clean them...i'd stay away

My buddy has one and it seems to be holding up fine so far. They are a PITA when you consider the honda ones you just throw away. You do have to disassemble them and clean them, but if you like saving money like we do then I dont see why not.

I had one on my raptor and one on my yfz and have had no problems with them at all. They are not hard to clean at all and hold up very well. Mine were the Scott's reusable filters. I have not had any motor problems with either quad. I have had one in my yfz for 15 months and that includes racing, sand dunes and just practice nights at the track. I would recomend it to anyone.

never heard anything about the scotts untill now but have heard to stay away from the CRT's..i have never personally used one so I'm just stating what I've heard

I got one of the reuseable oil filters of rocky mountain atv for 39.99 figured I would give it a try.

Yeah I'm pretty sure those are the CRT ones.

what do you use to clean the filter with, filter cleaning spray or is their a certain sray you use

Carb cleaner, engine degreeser, dish soap, and many other household cleaning products.
