View Full Version : PROJECT 400ex cross country racer! Complete

It started off as a simple 400ex with plain red plastic and a grey ole' frame!

I added new suspension, powder coated parts, 440 kits, porting, jetted carb, cam, and heavy duty clutch. I added every imanginable part to this quad minus swing arm, axle, and rear shock (re valved). Im only missing one part which is on its way...EXHAUST! a last minute decision is delaying the vital piece to this puzzle!

Project started in November and ended on Feb. 4th...and on a students budget!

special thanks to Pappy for powder coating all the pieces and getting them back to me lickidy-split!


Frame...picture distorts color its a translucent blue...looks kinda dumb in the picture but in real life its awesome...same with the candy red...

American flag graphics from Xtreme graphics and a HMF full exhaust system are on there way...along with Razr II front tires!


here is a pic of my frame at pappys so you can get the jist of what color it really is...his camera must be better than mine!...its the blue on in the middle:D :p

Looks good I like the translucent blue color, Pappy does a good job.. he did our frames and we finally got them put back together thursday night at 6 pm and left at 10:30pm the same night for texas :D Can't wait to see your bike in person.

word i love white plastics,get some better pix of that color setup,lol and we all know pappy uses the "high tech" state of the art cameras

sweet 400. with the pipe, graphics and tires its gonna be very sweet! also, i love that hood! what kind is it?

sharp looking quad, looks like u have put alot of time and money into it. Are those the new Maier one piece full fronts?

The hood is some knock off of the quad tech scoop...i picked it up off ebay for 60$ the only difference is the grill part...the plastic is the maier one piece and i cut the light mount off
