Fair asking price for 400ex????

What would you guys/girls think is a fair price for my 2002 400ex, its got a new 440 kit and cam in a box never installed. its got FMF pipe hole shot tires K&N filter and jet kit AC nerfs DG head ligth gaurd, fly bars alot more stuff i am forgeting. Idk if this should be in the for sale form but its not for sale yet jw what i could get for it. Thanks :devil:

well you could probably get 3000 or maby a little more it would probably be worth more if the 440 was installed but it looks like a nice clean bike, so i would say 3300 obo to get it started, good luck

yeah i would keep it if i were you since the 450s came out the price of 400s a gone down quite abit expecially the 400ex since it has to be compared with a z400 or a kfx400, the 400 is a little out dated now. dont get me wrong they are great bikes i love mine but were in the 450 decade now. my suggestion would be keep it put that 440 kit in there and have fun with it

i will probly do that that, i think i migth switch two a 416 kit thow cause i dont have the money to go nuts with the crf timing chain, and long head bolts and all that rigth now. you think any one around here would trade kits?

someone would probably trade kits if no just sell the kit and buy a 416 kit just put it up in the forsale section saying you eather want to trade it or sell it.

haha i know...im sure you could find a stupid sap who is willing to give u over 3 grand. 2 years ago i only got 3800 for my year old 400ex because of the new z400. now with the 450s the market really dropped.

the CRF timing chain and longer head bolts dont need to be put on the 440 or the 416 they are just for extra "protection" so no you dont have to but its aded insurance and when you do you motor rebuild dont go cheap or you will regret it latter most people say you should replace the crank bearing and things like that do some searching and you will find alot of info on 400 build ups you also made a good decition in going to a 416 alot of people say they ar the best good luck in you build up
