2006 450R Changes?

Heard a rumer that the 2006 will be changed a bit, has anyone else been told this? I want to get one but may wait until the 2006 is released now. I hope the kickstart stayes and no eletric is added.

I havent heard but that would be good if a few things were changed. I am also holding out til '06 to get my 450...

Ive heard about them adding an electirc start and reverse??? dont know if its true, but i like mine the way it is!!!

Yes, search this has been beat to death. Half the people are going to tell you it is perfect as is, while others seem to think it is going to be completely different. I remembering reading about fuel injection, electric start, reverse, ect... I say its a race quad and its winning races as is. It doesnt need electric start or reverse. I say if anything is changed, maybe stickers and a new rear linkage. I guess we'll just have to wait till the end of the summer to know for sure.

Yeah, I dont see them changing much on them minus graphix and might try something different with the rear shock/linkage. Might do something with the frames maybe?? Doubtful though....

Honda doesnt get to extravagant with changing quads.....look at the 400EX, heh. Un-changed for what? 4 years?

I don't think the 400ex was ever intended to be a racer. The 250R changed a bit over its 4 year stay. If they add eletric start and reverse then I will be buying the 05 as soon as the news is out.I havent heard anything about eletric start or reverse even though people cry about it not having them. I heard it was going to be changed a bit for 06 by a VERY reliable source. I would hope only the rear linkage, maybe a little hotter cam and for christ sake get rid of the front headlight plastic combo!! Just wishing though.It is a great quad now but hopefully it gets a hair better.

- 1st & 2nd gear ratio change
- Adjusted rear linkage and rear shock (valving & rebound)
- HRC cam standard (w/jetting to match STOCK pipe)
- new crank bearing source
- 1 or 2 frame gussets
- possibly an e-start from 450 dirtbike

That's if they listened to the owner survey cards we all sent back to em!

I think those changes would be awesome and make perfect sense. I do not see them putting the HRC cam in there though, but maybe instead offer a more aggressive cam stock. I wouldn't expect them to make any changes unless the YFZ makes them or if the Z450 is introduced. Hey lets not forget, we don't want them to make it too much nicer than our bikes!!!:devil: I can't afford to get another!!

Exactly!!! I don't want to be paying mine off, while 06's roll out with all this great stuff. That would suck.

Honda has contract to change models every 5 years so if they change anything dramatic it won't be till 07-08

probally true. Honda racers complained about the front end being so light out of the turns so honda will most likely tilt the top end of the motor forward 2 mm to raise the countershaft upward. raising the CS up decreases rear traction. without physically measuring this change it would be nearly undetectable, but I think the engine frame mounting bracket part #'s would change

I think the electric start should be an option. For XC racing it would be nice for sure. I also can't wait to see what Suzuki does...
