400ex vs kfx400

Hey whats the differences between both the 400's? How do they compare to each other in power, torque, and speed?

ok, imo,

ex has more torque. or is geared lower stock or something because i've been able to out accelerate every z/dvx/kfx i'm come across with similar mods to mine. they have better top end, dohc, and rev higher. their top speed is about 2-3mph higher than the honda's.

kfx 400 is faster but reliablility is not there. at least from my experiance.

ITS faster than the ex by a little bit
But in torque it doesnt have anything over the ex

My brother has the KFX and it hasn't had any problems. The 400EX power comes on lower for sure. When mine was piped it ran pretty much equal to his with his pipe moded. Of course since I've done the 416EX mine pulls quite a bit harder though.. He's building out a 440 now, so it should be interesting to see who pulls harder then.

I've never ridden a Z so I can't say how they feel compared to the EX but when I was stock I would trade victories with stock Zs in the sand. Never raced one on asphalt. With the few mods I have now I have no problem beating Zs.................even most piped ones I've raced.
