should i buy a stock 400ex and mod it out myself, or buy a stock yfz and mod it out myself??:confused:

downsides to the yfz in my opinion (i have to say that so the damn brand loyalists dont start crying) is the low end grunt and wheelies. the thing is too long and slender to pop up really fast and ride them. also it felt small compared to my ex for some reason. the downsides to the 400ex is power stock. add a pipe and k&n and i'm happy for now. it wont hold a candle to a stock yfz with those mods though.

if you meant flaws like 2001 raptor transmissions then no i can't think of any right now for those 2.

depends on what kind of riding your going to be doing? idk much about the YFZ. but i know there is no flaws on the EX besides it not having liquid cooling and lacking stock power. but a simple full system pipe can wake it up.

since you ride trails, and this is gonna be your first quad, i'd go for the 400

Yep Start with a 400 then go from there

I'd say get a 450r, because they are best for trail riding. A 400ex is also a good choice.
