I was thinking of purchasing the FMF Powerbomb, I was wondering how well they perform and if they perform well with a 416 or 426 kit? I am planning on running 11:1 compression. And a stage 2 hot cam. Would the powerbomb be any better or worse than a regular hight flow header? I currently have a K&N filter and a powercore 4 slip on. No air box lid. Thank you for any replies.

the powerbomb + slip on is just as good as a full system in my opinion.

I have a 426ex with a stage 2 cam and K&N filter with no lid. It originally had a powerbomb header with a powercore 4 silencer. I replaced that with a Sparks X6 and I couldn't be happier. It pulls much harder through out the entire rpm range and its midrange is absolutely amazing. I'd never run any other exhaust.

I'm happy with my powerbong and HMF slip on. the FMF powercore sucked and didn't help much compared to the HMF.

I have a power bomb header and a power core 4 silencer and it is fine. My riding partner has a hmf full system on his, and they run side by side and they are both jetted properly

Once I put in my 416 kit and cam the powercore seemed to hold it back. That's were the Bills Thunder I put on shined compared to the powercore. It was too loud and I then went to an HMF. Nothing agains the FMF, it was decent pipe and not too loud but it was restrictive compared to the HMF.

it is hard to compare two bikes. i have seen bone stock bikes beat piped and jetted ones. rider ability, rider weight, conditon of the motor, condition of sprockets and chain and tires, size of tires, throttle cable adjustments, etc all play a significant role.

i just got my 400 ex back today with the powerbomb on it, i only rode it for 15 minutes but the throttle response and pick up is great and it sounds really nice.
