Im looking at the kenda knarlys for new tires i have heard people say 22s are better than 20s for woods riding. I mostly do woods riding and straight out top speed runs down the long roads which a 22 would slightly increase the top speed. but will 22s bog the power down much? i have heard the knarlys are pretty light. thanks for the help

Yea you'll be fine. My stock 300 did fine with the 22's, and I had kenda vipers, I don't know how heavy those tires are but they were fine.

i am running 22's for my studded set, a little more top end thats about it. if you dont like it buy a 14tooth front sprocket and your good to go, it will bring you close to stock gearing.

when you buy taller rear tires it is gearing it up, you will gain a little topend power but loose a little bit of bottom end power. if you gear down one tooth in the front, it will bring you back very close to stock gearing.
the reason people say 22s are better for trails is for clearance issues. if you ride deep rutted or rocky trails and you pick up an inch more of clearance, you wont get stuck as much. hope this helps.
I belive the 300ex comes stock with 22" tires so they are geared for them. The 400 comes stock with 20" tires so you will feel some 'bogging' unless change the gearing. The easiest way will be to install a 14 tooth front sprocket.
If you current chain and sprockets have some time on them they should be replaced as a set.

I got 22" itp mudlites on my 400ex and, i didn't notice that much low-end decrease as much i did top-end gains. But I love them on agressive trails, I pull out other quads out of ditches all the time. It is nice, to have that extra inch of clearance.

I know, im planning on getting 20" holeshot hd soon, and slap those on hypers. So then i'll have the mudlites as muddin tires.

agreed...
when i added 22's to mine, it felt sluggish under the thumb @ lower RPM..
the 14tooth put it back and then some..
i tried a 37tooth rear for about a month, but i recently switched back...
the 14/38 combo was best for me and just about all i ride is woods..

Sorry I know it's off topic, but...
Honda_Runner-
do you have anymore pics of your front bumper? It looks like it is a IMS/Roll Intimidator series but I can't tell for sure. I am trying to decide between the IMS Classic on polished or the Intimidator in black. Thanks!
