I'm looking at building a buget 416 and I was looking at a Ross 10.8-1 and a TC MX cam - do I need heavy duty head studs with this and anyone who has done this - what have you spent for these two items - I plan on doing the work myself and just getting the cylinder bored by a local shop

416 you should not need heavy studs. But with the cam you might need to harden the rockers and run heavy valve spring you will have to check on that.

i actually run a ross 426 and a TC mx grind cam. i really like the setup. i may be parting my bike out in 2 months or so and if you want to buy the cam i would consider selling it. when i bought it from TC, he wanted $350 for the cam or $210 shipped if you gave him a good core cam. i would assume his prices are the same now. if your interested, let me know. however, i am not taking it out of the bike quite yet.

I would really like to do that but I did a compression test on it and I came out with 80lbs so its time for a rebuild - I would really like to just have to tear down the engine once to install everything instead of twice
