tc exhaust with crf450

any one ever run a tc exhaust on a crf450 hybrid?the section of pipe right before the silencer is only like a 1/4" away from the pastic and i know when im riding and leaning on the plastic its gonna burn a hole in no time.what can i use. only thing i can think of is have some brackets welded on so i can mount a sheld but i cant make anything stick out too fat or its gonna maker the plastic raise up.or......maybe use heat wrap, the stuff they use on exhaust headers for race cars. any suggestions?

I have some thermal tape like what the factory puts on plastic to keep it from melting. I also have some header wrap, but that stuff is horrible on quads it gets trapped full of mud and water. And if the pipe isnt stainless it starts rusting it. Either that or you can get it from jegs.

If it was me I would get the pipe ceramic coated inside and out, then put some of the thermal tape on the plastic. And make some kind of bracket so the plastic cant get pushed into while your riding.
