I've had my Fmf headpipe on for about a month now and it look hideous. It looks like burnt rust color and i was wondering if anybody has done something to make it look better. Can you paint, anodize or powdercoat the headpipe to make it look good? Everything else looks great on the bike except that damned headpipe.
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

I got an air die grinder with a wire brush on it and it cleaned mine up nice. Even made them shine like before they were new.

TRY CONTACTING JET HOT COATINGS. THEY CAN COAT YOUR HEADPIPE AND IT LOOKS LIKE CHROME. I THINK IT RUNS AROUND 40-50 BUCKS. IT ALSO HAS A WARRANTY.

Well I know you can use that engine paint, they say that some of the best stuff you can buy is John Deere brand, and the color is "muffler black" I just did mine with that. and I will keep you updated on how it works. Also as far as Chrome plating, that's a pretty good price our local shop charged 100-120 dollars!

It's acually a ceramic coating! It's supposed to outlast chrome or any other coatings. They said they would do my complete exhaust for $110. So I assume they'll do the head pipe for around $40 or $50.

I should be getting my header back soon. My friend is trying out something similar to jet hot, I think it's called aluma-coating, supposed to look similar to slightly polished aluminum. I'll post pics and prices when I get it back.

I just took three pipes, mine, my dads, and best friends, to get ceramic coated. I found shop that did all three for a good rate. It is supposed to cool the exhaust by a huge amount, and the inside of the pipes are now smooth as glass. They look like they are chrome and all three have not discolored at all. Well worth the money. By the way all three are different pipes, one stock, on powerbomb, and on Duncan Racing.
