usually people who ask about boots, gloves or googles seem to mainly be from california.

the reason he is in muck boots is the fact that its muddy, his riding boots barely fit, and im not buying another pair until early summer when they will maybe last him thru the fall. when you have kids, you will learn that thier feet grow..very fast:huh at $90 a pair i prefer to let him wear whatever he has versus dropping the cash every 90 days for new boots. if he was racing it would be different, but him riding a quad that goes about 2 mph faster then a battery powered quad doesnt justify the expense.

is that detailed enough:D

02-12-2005, 04:22 PM
to shift: hey my dad is goin' there.... hes racing with my friends dad hes the copilot or however its spelled.... so im goin to be there too.... ya my inbox is full i dont now why i honly have like 5 msgs.... :S:S.. if ur comming to rosarito we can go and ride a bit maybe huh?? if u'll like to pm me.. or write in here hehe....

to pappy: haha yea its detailed..... yaa ur right.... my bad hehe....kids grow very fast... i would like to have kids!! i keep tellin my dad that he should buy a quad for my little sister, shes 4 years old and when we go to buy parts for my quad she allways tells my dad that she wants one for her b-day, just a few days ago she told me that if there waws a "princess" quad.. haha ...
this is my sister... she's only 4

the kfx 50 is perfect for the young riders.

02-12-2005, 05:24 PM
my dad says that she's still too young...anyways he'll end up buying one for her and for him hehe :P

pappy-

for a really good camera value, i'd say go with the Canon ZR series. Since you already have a good digi cam, i'd probably reccomend the ZR100- the ZR200 and ZR300 have crappy still cams built in. I think the ZR100 runs somewhere around 350 bucks.

unless you want to go professional. In that case, Canon is again going to be the best- the GL1 is a good value, but the GL2 has better features. The XL1 is a little bigger and is shoulder mounted, but it has a better lens than the GL series. I've used all three of those cameras for three years, and theres nothing better out there imo.

Pappy weren't you about 100 yards away or more when you took this pic of me at the NC GNCC race???

The original pic pappy sent me on Cd was so big and clear that you could see the color of my eyes thru my goggles..

That pic is framed in the basement by the way...;)

Pappy
02-12-2005, 08:01 PM
yep, and thats not even the biggest lens i have:p

that pic was shot at steel creek in the first turn with a nikon D 80-200mm. its my money maker:p it keeps me a safe distance from the yahoo's:D

not really sure.

the only reason i have so much money tied up in camera gear is because it makes me money. before digital i did race car photography for magazines etc. (boy i wish we had digital back then:p )

when i bought my digital slr i stuck with nikon so that i wouldnt lose the use of all my lenses.

i havent really searched out video, heck id like to do it right and also get some editing equipment etc.

if you want to do things right but not go full blown, I'd say the Canon GL1 or GL2 is right for you.

as far as editing goes, if you want the good stuff you're gonna have to get a mac. I've used so many programs- adobe, pinnacle, final cut- as well as done linear editing, and IMO Final Cut Pro is the only way to go.

i bet the price tag is extremely pricey for that level?

i have the money, i geuss i could weigh out what value i could pull from that level of equipment. id rather just shoot it and have someone with brains edit it:p

Bush0102
02-12-2005, 08:16 PM
Yeah, pro video stuff is gonna get pricey. Last time i checked the GL cameras were running about 2500 bucks, the XLs were about 4500, and a good G5 mac was about 6-7K...and then i'm pretty sure the Final Cut software runs around 1000 bucks for the full pro edition of version 4

Pappy
02-12-2005, 08:20 PM
ok lets say im pretty damn good behind the lens, but i aint fer chit behind the keyboard. what camera will work for me and someone who can do all the editing bs without a second mortgage:p

$2500 isnt out of the realm if its good enough quality to sell off the footage

Bush0102
02-12-2005, 08:24 PM
I'd definately say the GL series is for you...

here's a picture of the GL2...its easy to handle, small, but the quality is pure digital. It's got a great lens, too.

Episode 1

Rico: Now what we're doing out here tonight is taking riders under the influence off of the trails (sets beer can down, turns to look at the camera and sounds of crashing aluminum cans as he turns come from the front)
