Where would you buy a JE 425 piston. I have looked around and it seems like everyone sells wiseco. I want a JE for a higher compression, plus they seem to be better than wiseco.

BTW A 425 is how much bored over? Its an 88mm piston right?

I'd recommend starting out with the 416. That way you still have one over-bore on your cylinder.

Call JE and order the 88mm piston for the Xr400 dirt bike, it will cost you 144$ including shipping and they have it in stock. The bore out to 88mm is .120 over the largest ive seen with the stock sleave. The bore job may cost more since they have to make an extra pass for larger bore job. You will love the power.

Thanks
Do you know if they have it in higher compression?

Got two JE pistons the other day, and both were all scarred on the outside, just a heads up, when youy get it just make sure you check it through and through.:(

Mine had a dent in it also,,, although I didnt purchase it directly from JE. If you get it directly from JE they can custom make your piston. The 416 pistons off the shelf come with 10.8:1 compression, but you can custom order a 13:1 416 piston if you wanted for the extra torque.

where did you get your piston from if you didnt order it from JE? Does anyone think 13:1 is too much? Is there any problems with this much compression, ie head gaskets? I will normally be running 106-110 octane. What gaskets should I use when rebuilding?

440's are a resleeve not an over bore.
