400ex or 250r front shocks?

I am doing the the conversion for my 250x and would like to know if anyone knows what would be the better shock to go with a 400ex or a 250r front shock?

Then go with 400ex shocks, most likely any stock 250R shocks you find are going to be so wore out that they will be worse than your stock 250X setup.
