do cdi boxes damage "450r" motor? even though the dirtbike revs higher than the quad, basically the same right? if not which do you recomend?

The ProComm boxes can damage. The stock box, Vortex and Dyna are 3D map. The ProComm actually only have 2D mapping, and have way too much timing advance on the top end of the RPM range. This is really bad news for high compression piston users (detonation). Also, these boxes don't even allow another 1,000 RPM as stated, more like around 400 RPM over the stock limiter. The Vortex X10 or the soon to be released DynaTech ignition will be the way to go to increase the rev limit and change timing curves.
