Wd40 the chain is o ring so wd40 works well.

I use WD40 as well, seems to work well for me. BelRay has some new Chain Lube that I used for a while that was pretty good but it made my sprocket hub look like crap.....

As long as you keep with the O-Ring style chain....WD40 works well.

I thought you weren't supposed to use wd on an o-ring cause it can prematurely wear out the o-rings!? Maybe I'm confusing it with something else. I use the honda chain lube. I forget the exact name. Its like a white wax. It seems to work the best out of the stuff I tried. I wasn't a big fan of Maxima chain wax, or at least the honda stuff is better than that.

Your right...you should never use WD40......it is a solvent.

Go to your nearest bike shop and buy chain lube designed for "O" ring chains.....your sprocket won't stay pretty, but your chain is lubed.

This has been beat to death on here. There is nothing wrong with using wd40 as a chain lube. Until someone shows scientific proof that is screws up the o-rings I am calling it bullchit. I have used it for years with no problems at all.

Bel Ray super clean chain lube.

You can use WD40 if you want to but you will need to lube more often because it will suck the grease out of your chain that the O rings are supposed to keep in. WD 40 makes a great cleaner/degreaser.

wd40 is a solvent, and actually contains abrasives. yeah it will work on your chain, but when you get down to the nitty gritty there are much better lubes out there for your chain!

I use PJ1 I think it is. Works good. Dries up real fast and doesn't come off.

I use PB Blaster on my chain, if you read the directions it's a lubricant, and actually condtions the rubber as well. Sorry to say it, but it's exactly like WD-40. I use it before each ride, and after each wash and dry, never had any problems and I've been riding for years. when I sold my last bike it was 6 years old and when you raised the rear end up and spun the wheels the rubber O rings were all there and it was kink free and looked good. That chain was used 5 1/2 years cause I wanted a masterlink in my chain incase of a break.
