Well since there is a lot of questions about this conversion and how to do it , I decided to take some pics of my RPM 400ex axle and also my 400ex RAD twinrow carrier (top). The stock 450r axle and carrier is at the bottom.

here's the 2 axles.

This picture is to show you that I got the 2 hubs aligned, since the problem of fitting the 400ex axle in the 450r is sprokets alignement , so in the next pics we will be able to see the difference between the 2 setups.

This picture shows the difference between the carrier from the hub, taken by the 400ex RAD unit.

In this picture, we can see the overall difference in the carriers. The chain is I think 1/8 maybe a bit more off

The sleeve on the 400ex hub is clearly longer then the stock 450r sleeve. By machining the 400ex sleeve, you can get the chain in the right position and to keep your nice billet hub on your axle instead of putting the ugly stock R hub. It is very important in the machining stage to get the sleeve to the right measurement, you do not want to go any shorter than what it should be because the hub will rub the carrier.

What you guys think about that?? I think its a good idea I would like to know if im right or not.

any advice would be great on this!!

I'm not sure but by the pics, when the sprocket hubs are lined up with the straight edge, the ends of the axles are not the same length.

yeah it may looks crooked but I should have been a bit more to the left ;)

I will have to verify this !
