Anyone tell me where the oil filter is located on a 2001 400 ex?
I have just bought it and don't have a manual.

Right side of the case just below where the clutch cable is mounted. There are two bolts that hold the cover on. Becareful removing and replacing the bolts, there have been a fair amount of posts about people breaking off one of the bolts.

Make sure you remember which way the oil filter and spring go on, cause you dont want the filter on backwards!! That will be bad!

My GOD! how hard can it be to find an oil filter?

If anyone was to see this blokes garage they would wonder where the EX was with all the rest of the junk in there :D

Can't wait to see this new steed out an runnin, I expect you'll be needin to do alot of:muscle:

Hey msmit150 and exgriff, where abouts in Northern Ireland are you? I'm in Ireland now, just south of Dublin and am dying to see some quads. Are there any races up near you?
