Need Help W/ Ball Joints ***please***

I've got some Denton +2 a-arms that I bought used. I was wondering how the ball joints stay on the spindle? There not treaded at all, so how do they stay on? I'm not sure if there shot or if the castle nut keeps them on. Please Help

They are tapered, this is how they are secured to the spindle. You put the ball joint stud through the spindle and tighten the castle nut. If the ball joint stud seems to be spinning while you are tightening the nut, you need to apply pressure on the ball joint into the spindle while tightening the nut.
