did you shave your seat cause it looks it. and a very nice bike.

ml450r

Yes on the honda it is hard to get to the rear brake pedal in a left hand corner. So I changed the Seat to footpeg height by shaving the seat some. It is just for mx. Also modified the rear brake pedal to be able to get to it easier. Just put a larger pedal itself on it. Baldwin sells them.

Because stickers add 2hp ea. PEP stickers are orange and blue.... Used to run axis, had some stickers to use. After the first ride most of the stickers are tore off anyways.

I do all my own work on the motor, 180 main needle 4th clip
K&N, 11.5-1 piston, clean up port on head(done at local honda shop), hmf full system, stage II hot cam

Mustang dyno, with factory pro software
on maxxis razr's with 10psi.
Numbers don't sound to good but it runs strong. I am bolting an Nmotion 520 cylinder on the same engine next week to see waht kind of increase in power I can get. That is the only reason I even put it on a dyno.

You would gain about 5 hp using proper dyno tires from what I have been told. So that with flat track tires on it would look pretty good. 45 is about what I would have guessed. Keep us posted on the 520cc kit.

I am not sure about the tires, I have been told not to use knobbies on dyno's, but I don't know what a differnece that should have made. I have also been told that a Dynojet dyno will give you higher numbers, but either way I am just looking to see what the increase will be from 11.5-1 450 to 12-1 520. I am hoping for 7-8hp and the same for the torque, we'll see. I can't change until after Sat, because of the pro quad race at St. louis.

I fabricated my own pedal, but I got the idea because I saw a 450r at a track with a large pedal. He said he got it from Baldwin for $80. That's all I know about it. I will let you know how the bike works after this weekend.

I am not about to answer that question.... lol

The Honda will outrun my Yfz by about a bike, but the YFZ definately feels faster. I like the way the yamaha transfers weight from front to rear when your are trying to take off, really helps on holeshots. Once you switch the linkage on a honda I think they are better bikes. The honda seems to hide all tis power in it's torque if that makes any since......easier to go faster longer... I think alot of people will switch to the honda now that it is getting figured out. Neither machine is bad though. Both are making this sport alot of fun. I had a TC yz426 LSR hybrid before the YFZ, I would never go back.

merrill, i like that walsh set up pretty cool looking. how do you like that rear end. does that savior linkage help u quite a bit because we ran the maxxis six hour in texas sunday. the 450r we ran just had a Elka and long travel linkage. it seems to still buck and kick around alot. i guess what i'm say'in would it be worth the investment.

thanks for the info later, adam

Yes we both agree the PEP works better. The PEP rear shock really helped. The ELKA wouldn't let you adjust the ride height enough. The PEP will. Thanks for the pics, Couldn't find any with me in front though huh..... lol
