Looking into getting a sparks timing advance. Anybody using one of these and what do you think of it? My only mods. are a K&N filter and a FMF Powercore 4 and no lid on the air box. Will I need a jet kit when I advance the timing? THANKS Shawn

you should have already rejetted for the mods that you have,
i installed the advance key in mine and can't tell any difference, i think it's because i done one mod at a time.

Yes it was jetted when the pipe and filter was installed. Will I have to jet again? Thanks

you shouldn't have to rejet again, given your where it needs to be now. the timing key will make the throttle feel more crisp, not necessarily increase power.

Well it will run hotter so it couldn't hurt to be a tad on the rich side to help cool it a little better or maybe run a step up in octane of gas.

also, when you go to adjust your valves, the top dead center mark (T) on the flywheel will be off by a little bit.

I have the key in mine. I love it!! I also have the lid off and jetted.

There is a differance. But I think most of my increase was when I removed the airbox lid and rejetted at the same time. $15-20 for a little more power and another mod, I think it is worth it. I have never noticed mine running any hotter like some want to say it does.
