why did honda stop selling this bike. It is definately the best bike ever made. I just wish that two strokes were not hated so much! Also should i get an Eddie Sanders 330 powervalve kit or no powervalve? I mostly do dune riding?

Here is a pic of my bike.

In the dunes, a non powervalve is just fine. Powervalves are best suited to MX racing and other applications requiring a bit more TORQUE instead of RPM

They stopped producing the R because of the government. And yes the pv cylinder is more for course racing, XC and MX. It smooths the power out and tames the whole power curve. For you in the dunes the non pv cylinder will be fine and is what most duners choose.

ya well this quad is the best. ive ridden the 400s and my uncle just got a 450 so ill ride that. but before this 250 i rode a 300 so ive ridden quite a few. also the lt 500, blaster, 70, 80. so the 250 is the best quad. unless you want a kid like me thats 14 to go buy a 7k quad. that has almost the power of a 4k quad.

well put. I agree, for the money the 250R is the best quad available. You can buy tricked out R's that have 15-20k invested for less than 5k. I agree that compared to any quad I've ridden it's the best handling and cheapest to boost HP to the moon.

I'm afraid we're going to see them really start disappearing in the next two years due to the banshee dieing off. The banshee is now days the poster boy for 2 strokes along with the blaster. As they stop making them after 2006 I think the R will really drop in price and be mostly seen only in back yards, not race tracks.

a damn shame!

no, not really. I'm not the kind of person that has something just to have it. I bought mine to ride it hard and everyday. But that's cool if that's what you want.

I once new a guy that had a 1966 427 AC Cobra, yes the real thing and he drove it regularly. I asked him how he could do that with such a valuable machine?

His reply was "to have a car like this and not drive it is like having a beautiful wife and not making love to her"

Enough said....have fun driving

The legendary 250r will never die! EVER. Sure I have my yfz but only because the yfz setup is so close to the 250r that it is scary, have you ever compared the frames? Take a look and you will see y the yfz is such a hit, because it was influenced by the legendary 250r
