i have posted about this before and havent gotten much of a response...

i am looking for THE BEST swinger skid.. i figure its a pretty vital piece...

i was probally going to go with DG Fat series, actually how much differant is the DG Baja from the stocker? you guys think the FAT series is an overkill?

but if anyone knows of a better one please let me know.... i have heard PRM and ProTech... but i want to get somemore opinions...

and where do you guys get these from.... C&D?

I have a PRM swinger skid on my 400 and couldn't be happier! That thing has taken some pretty hard hits, and shows some wear, but is by no means beat up. I'd recommend it.

PRM, I did mangae to bend and crack mine in a few places but that was from running up and down a 4x4 jeep boulder field. Other than that it has been holding up excellent, and even though it is slightly cracked in some areas it still is doing its job, and holding up just as strong as it did when I first got it.

I have a DG Fat Series on my 400ex. I love the thing! The first time i took my stock quad on a rough trail the stock skid plate was beaten in around 2 hours! It had huge dents and it was almost torn off! I got the DG Fat Series and i havent had a problem since. The baja series are very nice to if u dont want to spend the extra money for the fat series. The baja series are .190 thick so that gives you still tons of cover. The Fat Series are thicker but also heavyer. The Fat Series is 1/4 thick. hope this helps-

Glad to have helped. My friend runs the baja and he loves them and hasnt had any problems yet. hey, your running the hmf pipe? how do you like it? i am looking in to buying a pipe and i am trying to decide between a hmf or something similair. Does it come with the quit core and the spark arrestor? hows the power? (bottom end, mid, top?) thanks alot

my oppinion is kind of biased because its the only pipe i have used... but i tell you after i jetted it to what HMF recomends man its like a whole new quad... it really woke it up 100% and i think youll find that from others that use HMF too... it does come with this tiny little screen spark arestor, and the quiet core is $20 extra.. but really it not super loud... but anything is loud when your sitting on top of the pipe. it think its well worth the money.. from experance if you can afoord it up front get the pipe and head pipe all at once... if you chose to get the head pipe later you have to send your slip on back for fitmint....

i think youll be happy with HMF

Here it is. I saw a Pro Armor ad in the latest ATV sport magazine and it looks like they redesigned this bumper already. Kind of a cross between this one and the bullhorn bumper. I'm not sure which one I like better.

Pro Armor all the way man. I went through 2 DG Performance Baja skids in one summer. Plus the pro armor is 3/8" thick, thats over a 1/4". No problems at all

I'm not sure if you can get it yet. The new one looks the same but has a rectangular center section identical to the bull horn bumper with the bars coming out like mine. Alot of places that sell proarmor parts don't carry my bumper for whatever reason. I bought mine off ebay because proarmor didn't have any.

be careful when you buy on ebay. I didn't hear from the guy I bought my bumper from until a month after I bought it. I had paid with paypal too. I sicked paypal and ebay on the seller and finally got my part. And still never recieved an email from the idiot to explain what happened.

The price is good but the part itself looks a little iffy. I would go with a reputable brand. Pro-tect makes stainless steel skids but are big$$. Just get a nice aluminum such as a prm or pro-armor and be done with it.
