Piston and Cam upgrade

I have an 03 400ex, I found a hotcam stage 2 and a Weisco piston on Rockymountain for pretty cheap. Is that really going to make that big of a difference with a stock bore and slip on pipe?

if the piston is 11:1, yes it will make a big difference. i would highly recommend a good full pipe after the fact but it should run very very well. when my buddy and i did our testing, a 10:1 406 with a stage 1 hotcam would outrun a piped, filtered, and jetted 400ex everytime. by the way, the 406 was running a stock pipe, just rejetted for the cam/piston combo. we were not using cheap pipes on the 400ex with a stock engine. we ran an x-6.
