Well I don't really know if this is it for sure or not , but if you look closely at the pipe , it looks like it has the TC badge on it . Maybe someone has a better picture of it ... but I'm pretty sure it's a TC system . Kinda looks like a CT exhaust .

TC pipes are supertrapp pipes. That looks like a supertrapp (with TC's name) that has not been shortened and that has a spark arrester (the discs) instead of the billett end cap.

Nothing new.

it probably alot quieter than the standard TC also. I have a tc on my crf450r quad and its real loud, I guess he had to try to make them somewhat quiet.

i like the old style ALOT better...looks like all he did was slap a tc logo over the supertrap on the can and call it his??? cant he get introuble for that

There is no old style and new style. They are all supertrapp pipes and most of them are shortened. This one just happens to not be shortened.

so judging from what your sayin taht i can still buy a TC shorty or i can buy the full length exhaust

i heard tc was going to selling a new pipe to pass the nationals sound limit at 102db, maybe they are using an unshortened supertrapp?

i'm pretty sure there still using the orignal shortie i talked to the lady at lost creek and she said that tom did something and took care of it

That may be true, but the pipe pictured above is nothing new. Being longer and having the disc's in may make it quieter, so maybe thats what's going on.

just talked to kevin at lost creek and he said that there still selling and running the shorties but u can get a quieter verison that is longer, that must be the quieter version that TC is selling

I've seen pics lately of TC pipes with longer mid-sections (the black piping). One guy on here has a TC pipe that bolts to the 2nd mount on the subframe, mine only mounts to the first, so I dunno.

I'm wondering if they have a new one too, I'de love to have one but only if they were quieter...

looks like Dustin Whimmer was ridin a TC shorty at Glen Helen! So i'm guessing it must be a quite version!

which style would this pipe be ...
it was bought from tc about a year ago
he said to use the stock headpipe just to cut it down 5 inches.

it bolts up in the same locations the stocker does

I'm guessing the new version has the longer mid-pipe because I bought mine a few weeks before the DB rule came out. Now that I'm seeing TC pipes with longer mid-pipes it just makes me wonder.

Does anyone know where you can order a new TC shorty and how much they cost?

flat_track400ex

Freestylemxr

damn they are so expensive, and for such a little pipe!

TCracin440ex
02-10-2005, 05:01 PM
i think the main reason that pipe is so expensive...is because of the power gains it has...its like 375 for just the slipon deal from TC.

muddy400EX
02-10-2005, 06:47 PM
ewww, that long pipe looks really bad. looks just like the supertrapp. shorty TC looks much much better, and prolly sounds better too:) do they make a TC shorty slip-on or full for the 400ex. when i was looking for a pipe for my 400 i didnt see them on their website.

flat_track400ex
02-10-2005, 06:57 PM
the one for the 400 is only the slip on
i know it is expensive thats why i havent gotten mine right i'm a cheap *****

TCracin440ex
02-10-2005, 07:01 PM
no actually its not a slip on your just buying hte silencer....your using your stock head pipe, cutting 5 inches off of it to make the exhaust work

the reason he uses stock headpipe on the 400ex is because the stock headpipe gives bottomend

dang, i wish i woulda known that cuz i was wantin a TC:(

TCracin440ex
02-10-2005, 07:14 PM
so in all actuality you have a FULL TC...but retaing the stock headpipe only modified

a full exhaust with a new headpipe and everything adds topend

that is why his pipes are such great mx pipes because of the bottomend they give...that bottomend is great out of the turns

correct me if im wrong!!!

i put a complete powroll 350x conversion pipe on my buddies 250x/350x quad and we took the baffles out of it and put my tc shorty endpipe onto it and it sounds almost the same ... i'm going to shorten his supertapp a few inches cause he wants a shorty

tc said he'd have to have his quad at his shop to build him an exhaust since he doesn't and never did produce an actual exhaust for the conversion ... only custom ones
