350x Pipes

I am purchasing a 350X and need feedback on what is some of the better pipes? I will be jetting and changing intake. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey I would recomend that you go to www.3wheelerworldforums.com and do a search on 450r exhaust. The honda 450r stock pipes are nice and you can get them for cheap of ebay. Great performance and not to loud. Only slight modifications need to be done to make it fit. I do know that you should not go with cobra.

I'm told that the best silencer is a supertrapp, a dg excellerator is about the best you will find easily, forget the cobra pipes and standard dg. I think the dg's are full systems and the supertrapp is a slip-on. Be very careful when you go to take off the head pipe, heat up the nuts to a cherry red and they try to turn them, don't give too much force or you will snap them. when you put them back together, put plenty of anit-seize on the headpipe, studs and nut. I busted apart a 200x head because the head pipe was rusted to the head.

450R's have 1 exhaust header; 350X has 2 !!:huh

I would go with a supertrapp. Avoid the dg and cobra exhaust. The way the aftermarket headpipe is routed creates a problem with the clutch cable. The clutch cable sits extremely close to the header and doesn't handle the heat very well ( on 1985 models). On 1986 model x's the clutch cable is routed along the left side of the bike and comes in behind the engine. So, If you have a 1986 model you should be ok with the dg, but I have found that the supertrapp works the best. I've owned four 350x's over the years and I ran the supertrapp on all of them.

I agree with shamisc the 450r header would take some serious modifications. 350x headers are like 400ex headers, they had 2 pipes into one, where a 450r is one large header.
