How much would it take to make a 400ex produce HP like a 250r? Actually like an LRD 265r?
Thats what my current ride is, its a stock chassis w/TCS shocks all the way around, turf tamers on douglas ultimate beadlocks, nacs front radials, all that kinda thing. Anyway, I have been thinking more and more about getting a 400ex, but I just dont know.

Could a 426ex make the power that my current R is making? I figure its probably makin 40+hp or so. I dont want a 440 as I like a fast revving motor, not tons of torque, so if I cant get a 416 or 426 up to current powerlevel of my R, then I will definately keep my R.

Anyone got a tricked out 416 or 426 EX they would want to trade for a FAST 250r?

No, I really dont know the HP of my R. My buddies dad has a CT 265 that he said makes about 48hp and I think mine is just as powerful, so at least 40.

No one has a dyno that they will allow quads on around here, its bike only everywhere I can find!

Keep the R. I think you can squeak out just over 40 hp with a 426 or 440 kit........a GOOD kit. Like Sparks or FST. But you are talking 1800-2500 bucks w/labor plus the cost of a 400 which is gonna be at least 3500. So you will have 7 grand into a quad that still needs shocks, a-arms, axle, handlebars....

If you have 9 grand to spend....get a 400. If you dont......keep the R. Your R sounds better than any 400 anyway. Wanna trade for mine?!?!?!?
