I have read an heard that people hate these brand rev boxes and have nothing but trouble with them. What kind of problems specifically? Just curious.

They make the bike next to impossible to start, especially cold... Also, these boxes werent specifically designed for the 400ex. They use a 250x ignition curve and thats all there is to it. Companies like TC Racing and GT Thunder both developed a box to work specifically with the 400ex that resolves the starting issues and gives a better curve overall. I believe both of these boxes advance the timing slightly as well...

yeah, stating is the main issue. but tc, its a XR250 box they are selling, right off the honda shelf. your right tho, gthunder and TC make thier own boxes. havent heard anything good or bad about the TC box, but i have heard lots of good stuff about GThunders

could the starting problem be to what the warning I have read in any literature refers to about these 2 saying "battery must be at full charge or starting problems will occur?"
Another question, what does it mean to have a more aggressive spark curve? Does that refer to just the timing of the spark, or length of time it is firing, or the power of the spark?

ive heard alot of good things on the gt thunder. But i havent had a single problem with my big gun. i have a hi comp piston in a stroked motor and even cold its starts right away. Cold here is like 30 degrees when i ride, its like 65 now though.
