400ex trouble

My qaud been acting up. all summer it ran good and begining of winter.. Then it started not to start backfire above half throttle, then some days it would run good? it runs fine in 5th gear pinned with a little miss at full throttle. I check for airleaks. I was told i had bad gas.. i changed it, If you have any ideas let me know thanks!!

have you drained the carb itself? sometimes dirt can get into a jet so id suggest checkin her out pretty good.

also, check that your coil wire is still tight into the coil, ive seen a few of those back out but its rare.
