About three weeks ago i noticed after i got done riding my 400ex gas was poring out of the over flow tube. This only happends when the motor is off. The quad still runs fine with no hesitation or any thing else. what could this be???

yea i'd just take the carb off, take the float bowl off, make sure everything is moving freely and shoot it to hell with carb cleaner

Mine did this, somehow I had a piece of grass stuck in the needle valve.

yeah take the carb apart and clean it and that should do it.

well i cleaned the carb and float bowl and it worked out for a long while no gas poreing out runing full power. Now today riding i lost all power at full throtle like my kill switch was off then if i let off the throtle it would come back then cut out again, gas was poreing from the over flow vent again then. under no load i could rev it to the limiter in neutrel but soon i went to take off it would like cut out. IDK what the deal is.

Sounds to me like you need to change the seet(sp, seat) and needle, and that the floats are out of adjustment. All of these are easy and cheap things to fix, just do a complete rebuild on the carb. Make sure that the choke is not comming open from worn out parts.

FYI: they weren't talking about the Needle Jet. They are talking about the check valve needle and seat. It's what stops the fuel flow when the foat gets high enough.

Just smack the side of the bowl (installed don the quad, not opened up), with the plastic end of a screwdriver a few times. It should fix her. Or, pick up the back end and drop it a few times. If it starts doing it again right away, you'll want to inspect the float and check valve.
