i was just wondering what the deal is with the 250R. is it still legal to race this bike? what classes? all i hear now , is 4 strokes and hybrids. Just wondering what the future holds for this machine.

They're trying to faze the 250r out:ermm: you can still race them, just not at the big factory races I guess, 4strokes are finally putting out some good power..and almost if not copying in the goemetry..pretty close, cant be lookin bad w/ an old unit still gettin' w/ it:blah: :p

Not too sure what the future holds for them...except for a few more in my garage:D

you can race them in any class as long as the word "production" is not in the class title and you obviously cant race them ina four stroke class. open and c classes are still ok tho, but all of the national pro classes are production now

In canada you can race them in any class, anyway there is only like 2 class to race in...

But that's why I just got one :macho

technically u could race them in any class. the rule in the production class now states that u can only run a stock, gusseted frame. and almost every 250R beein raced anymore uses an aftermarket frame. that tied with presure from sponsors is slowly fasing out the legend.

you don't see many r's anymore, I'm told the stock frames don't hold up too well to racing.

Ive heard the production rule and I think the production frame cant be any older than 5 or so yrs, :confused:

Actually its only for bikes currently in production.

so heres a question i keep coming back to withought an answer... could u race a service honda 250R in the production class????
