This is what's left of my clutch assembly. It exploded while taking off on a drag race Saturday. What should I go with now?? I would like a Hinson basket, pressure, and center with Barnett clutch plates and springs. What works the best with built motors? I really don't like the 8-plate idea. It seems the plates would be thinner to make room for 8. Are stock parts OK to use with Hi-comp 440? Pictures below:

the 8 plate setup does use thinner plates. i would suggest one though. i looked at mine a few months ago and i couldn't even tell it has been used, well besides the oil on the plates. i run a sparks one. the hinson products are highly recommended.

cals,
do you have all of the Hinson parts or just the basket? Who has the best price on the Hinson basket? Can you tell a difference in the 8 plate vs stock in feel?

The 8 plate that I use in my R doesn't use thinner plates...it uses a deeper basket and everything. It uses factory Honda plates, just more of em.

Don't feel bad man.

i actually run the stock basket with a sparks 8 plate setup. i am not really hard on my bike and the clutch hasn't given me any problems with the stock basket in.
