Boring Questions!!!

I want to bore my quad. I have a 400ex w/ K&N Powerkit and wb e series slip on. How much should I bore? I was thinking .06. What does .06 mean though, like how many cc's will it add? How do I get it bored, will dealerships do it? Do I need to bring my entire quad to the store? Could I bring them my engine? What will they charge? I know nothing about boring so please help me out!

From your sig it says you have a high compression, so someone has already done some engine work inside. But anyway pistons usually come .10, .20, .40 and so on. This number refers to how many thousandths over a piston is in size reference to stock bore size. Price on this will vary also, anywhere from $200 to $600 completed. But if you have a high comp piston, I would be looking for a cam next.
