Has anyone ever split their o-ring chain and added a masterlink?
If so, did it last and was it strong enough with no problems?
Appreciate any info...

I ran a master link equipped chain on my modded banshee and it held up fine.

Reason I'm askin is that my chain is almost new and putting a 36 tooth sprocket on the back im out of adjustment.
So if i split the o-ring chain and put a masterlink in it will be fine?

Are you talking about a stock chain that doesnt have a master link, or are you talking about adding a second master link. If its a stock chain, there wont be any problem. Hell all aftermarket chains have master links. But I wouldnt want to run more than one master link, I have heard of people doing it but I wouldnt want too.

Yes it is the factory chain. I want to put a 36 tooth sprocket
on(had a 38) and i'm out of adjustment. First gear is too low.
Wanted to know if I could split the o-ring chain and put a masterlink in.
Also, would the chain hold-up.

Yeah, You'll be fine with a master link. Go ahead and cut your chain to the length you need. I did that to mine and haven't had any problems, However I do carry a spare master link with me just incase of any problems on the trail. But like I said, I never had to use it yet, Just carry one for peace of mind.
