1988 plastic on 86?

Will the plastic and headlight assembly from a 88 work on a 86. Does the 86 and 88 stator and everything the same so their will be no problems with the lights?

The headlight will work fine too. The part number is different on the stators, but have the same output as far as lighting is concerned.

I have a light from an 86/87 on my 89 r, and it works fine.
