I need a new left side case. I can work on just about anything on the bike but I have never worked on a bottom end. If I have a good manual with the right tools I should be able to do it without much problem right? What manual is better the honda service manual that is specifically for the trx 250r or the clymers manual. Also what tools will I need to work on the bottom end.

I was very fortunate, the first time I split a case I was assisted by a friend that had done hundreds of them. There are many little tricks to make it easier that the manuals do not go into. Of the two, the clymers gives more discussion about how to take things apart with heat and not destroy surfaces along with the proper sequence, etc.. The honda manual is written more about the procedure and sequence steps to take in disassembly and assembly.

I like the clymers books because they have excellent pictures and discussions with the average guy in mind.

Hope this helps.
